What is a Ceramic Coating?
Ceramic Coatings are one the best and most affordable ways to protect your car. Think of a ceramic coating as a very thin layer of glass covering and protecting your car from the elements, these coatings when installed correctly have outstanding water behaviour, amazing gloss, durability and dirt resistance.
Should you get a Ceramic Coating?
Ceramic coatings are a hard sacrificial protective layer that chemically bonds to the paint forming a shield for your car, they are harder than factory clear coats, meaning they have higher resistance to swirls but they are not scratch-proof. They also have high resistance to chemicals to prevent staining and etching as well as amazing hydrophobic properties to keep your car cleaner for longer, ideal after a paint enhancement or correction.
Benefits of having Ceramic Coatings?
1) Durability is the weakness of many products, such as waxes, some have to be re-applied every couple of months. Ceramic Coatings solidify and chemically bond to the paint which cannot be washed off, because of this it has incredible durability. For a car that doesn't get driven much, it could last a lifetime.
2) Reduce the risk of swirls and scratches on the paint, the ceramic contains SiO2, one of the hardest materials in the world, and acts as a barrier for any surface.
3) Incredible hydrophobic properties the water will roll off the surface and gives a 115° bead angle. Helping to prevent dirt, water spots, stains and contamination build-up as well as protecting from UV damage.
